Solution:
We are required to evaluate `log 48`
`log 48 = log (16 x 3)`
⇒ `log 48 = log` (`2^4` x `3`)

use product rule to get
`log 48 = log 2^4 + log 3`
⇒ `log 48 = 4log 2 + log 3`
substitute the value of `log 2` and `log 3`
i.e
`log 48 = 4(0.30103) + 0.47712`
⇒ `log 48 = 1.20412 + 0.47712 = 1.68124`
∴ `log 48 = 1.68124`
